.DO Dominican Republic Opportunity

Those customers that had already registered a Dominican Republic, ART.DO, COM.DO, NET.DO, ORG.DO, SLD.DO, WEB.DO extension before October 30th 2009 had the ability to complete the .do registration before March 10th 2010.

Now, all unregistered .do domain names will be served on a first come, first served basis.

.CN China – Important update

If you have already registered a .cn domain name please ensure you pay particular attention to the expiry date as if this is lost, you may not be able to secure it again. Late in 2009 the Chinese registry decided to take action to try and prevent the number of malicious registrations. As of 20 December, 2009, CNNIC is requiring documentation to accompany all .CN domain registrations.

.PRO Request For Proposal

11th March 2010

The .pro Registry has published details regarding the first phase of the release and allocation of one, two and three-character .PRO names. The first phase is Request for Proposal (RFP). The complete RFP process is outlined on the .pro Registry website at http://www.registry.pro/123. The deadline to submit RFPs for one-character .PRO names is March 31, 2010 and the deadline to submit RFPs for two- and three-character names is April 30, 2010.

Names not allocated by RFP will be released by auction and first come / first served, general release at a later date.

At a time when many of us hadn’t even heard of the Internet the .COM extension was born and with it, a revolution that’s changed all of our lives. With .COM reaching its milestone 25th Anniversary this month, Verisign is launching a number of events and initiatives in celebration.

The first .COM domain name was registered back on March 15th 1985 (symbolics.com) and is today owned by domain investor, Aron Meystedt. This first .COM registration ignited the birth of the Internet and the rest as they say is history. Today there are over 80 million .COM domains in registration and still growing rapidly.
